Actually, maybe we should start with who this blog may NOT be for (or for whom this blog may not be). If you saw no need to add the parenthetical clause, this blog may not be for you. If you don’t know the difference between your and you’re, this blog may not be for you. If you are looking for ways to become 5’10”, blond, and a size 2 in 10 days or less, this blog may not be for you. If you are looking for an example of unattainable perfection, displayed daily in flawlessly filtered photos, this blog may not be for you. If you want to hear how magical marriage and motherhood are, how I wouldn’t change a thing, how utterly amazing every moment of my ‘Gramworthy life is, then this blog may not be for you.
But if you prize authenticity and straight talk about real life and real problems along with real joy and real fun, this blog’s for you. If you think there is humor to be found in pretty much every situation in life, this blog’s for you. If you like to make pretty things, score rocking deals at the Target dollar spot, and throw fun parties, this blog’s for you. If you love your kids, but hide your treats until they’re in bed, this blog’s for you. If you or anyone you love battles mental illness, this blog’s for you. If you have teenagers or aging parents, this blog’s for you. If you love to give creative gifts, send packages, and try new recipes, this blog’s for you. If you love your family, but your idea of a perfect vacation is a week at home ALONE, this blog’s for you. If you are a Christian, or just want to be better at learning to love and serve those around you, this blog’s for you. If you are, like me, discovering the joys of being a grandparent, this blog’s for you.
I don’t have a niche. Or a lifestyle. Just a life, that I’m trying to live the best that I can. Join me, won’t you?
(And if you don’t know the difference between your and you’re, but you’ve hung in there all the way to this point, stick around! Maybe I’ll do a quick post on how the internet and smart phones have destroyed basic grammar.)
