TARGET LOVERS, UNITE!

I admit it, I am a Target addict. I love to shop there, not just because they have great deals and it’s close to my house (finally!), but I love the whole experience. Everything is just…cute. Yes, you can buy a bath towel for the same price at Walmart, or TJ Maxx, but Target has the cutest stuff! And they know how to give you eye candy. They do visual merchandising better than anyone. I like to just go and browse, and sometimes that’s way more fun than buying! Ok, not really, but almost!

THE ONE SPOT

One of Target’s best places to score deals is right where you walk in. A few years ago, my sister was looking for a flyswatter or something and she couldn’t find one. After dragging two little kids everywhere, she finally asked a Target employee where the flyswatters were. The girl told her, “At the one spot.” My sister said, “What spot?” “You know, the one spot.” At this point, justifiable homicide was looking like an option, until the employee walked my sister over to The One Spot, as it was called then. The place at the front of the store where everything was a dollar. The ONE Spot! Ohhhhh! I think it’s now called Bulldog’s Playground or something, but I still call it The One Spot. 😊 And everything isn’t only a dollar anymore, but they have added tons of items at different price points (1, 3, and 5 dollars, usually) that are super cute and affordable!

This is my go-to place for birthday packages, gift baskets, happy mail, and singing time props! I wanted to start a series of things I found there for a total of 10 dollars or less. So here’s today’s offering!

CELEBRATION BOX UNDER 10

First of all, I probably don’t even need to use a disclaimer but I am not a professional photographer! However, I am working on taking better pictures. These were the best I could do at the time, since I was in a hotel room. But the cuteness still comes through! Here’s a little more detail. These cute banners will start any party, and they are both one dollar! One is a garland and the other is a poster that you can fill in with the occasion, or have guests write messages. If I were mailing this, I might have everyone write on it and then package it back up.It’s not a party without balloons! I found two options, one package of black and white balloons, and one that had a mixture of plain, polka dot, and messages. And they were one dollar each! The candles were silver, white, and black and a score at just a buck.Instant photo booth: all you need are a wall and these cute photo props, for, you guessed it-a dollar!I love this confetti popper and these note cards. The cards are fantastic because you could use them for anything! And confetti makes everything seem more festive! Until it’s time to clean up….Both of these were a dollar as well!

There are so many ways to use these great little finds! I love to send packages and so many friends and loved ones live far away, that it’s one of my ways of connecting. This would make a great party-in-a-box. Add a cake mix and frosting and they can add the ice cream and the people! Or use it to decorate a teenager’s bathroom for a surprise in the morning. Throw it in a bag with some treats and drop it off for a friend or secret pal. Ten minutes and less than ten dollars and you can totally make somebody’s day!
