10 Love Songs You Don’t Even Know You Love

AT CERTAIN STAGES OF LIFE, LOVE LOOKS A LOT LIKE DRIVING

My brilliant and amazing sister-in-law said something to that effect on Instagram the other day, and it’s true. Whether it’s driving kids to dance or school or physical therapy or orthodontic appointments, we put a lot of “mom” miles on the car. I’m starting to put a lot of “daughter” miles on my van, too. But one nice thing about a trip by myself, is cranking the tunes and playing whatever I want as loud as I want. Also, singing along at the top of my lungs. Just to entertain the other drivers on the freeway. I also occasionally turn on a blinker and leave it on for a couple of miles to see if anyone’s paying attention. Hey, I’m trying to stay awake, okay?

Anyway, today I remembered and blasted some great love songs that you may or may not know, while on a drive up to see my parents. Give them a try on your next carpool. Or solo road trip. Or in the grocery store with your AirPods in. Whatever makes you happy!

1: Always by Atlantic Starr

2: Hold On To Me by John Michael Montgomery

3: You Are Always On My Mind by Michael Buble (DO NOT LISTEN TO THE WILLIE NELSON VERSION, I had to endure that my whole childhood and I didn’t even realize this was the same song. Or that Willie Nelson was singing anything remotely resembling music)

4: High On You by Survivor

5: I Will Be There For You by Jessica Andrews

6: If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful by Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson

7: Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman by Brian Adams

8: I Can Wait Forever by Air Supply

9: Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love For You by Glenn Medeiros

10: I Love You by Martina McBride

Btw, I still love #10 even though I had to listen to it across part of Colorado and most of Kansas because it was the only thing my 3-year-old daughter would let us play, and I was traveling by myself from Utah to Oklahoma with 4 children from the ages of 1-11, and I still like it. I’d say that’s a pretty solid recommendation. I mean I couldn’t listen to it for five years…but NOW, I like it!
