I HAVE MADE IT!
Today is my first guest post! After the one I did on dealing with anxiety which is HERE, Emma from invaluable.com reached out and asked if she could share some tips, and also some absolutely gorgeous photos from her mood board about helping create a mindfulness mindset in your home. I feel like Sally Field. Some of you really like me! Or what I have to say! Or you ended up here on accident and you are paralyzed and can’t do anything but scroll through WordPress accounts.
Anyway, if the last few weeks have taught me anything, it’s that everyone has TOO MUCH STUFF. And when my house is cluttered, my mind goes into overdrive. It’s my goal to get rid of, donate, or use up all the things cluttering up my mind and I would LOVE to know exactly where everything is. And not by just using my normal mom-can-find-anything superpower! I need space in my life, both physically and emotionally. Time to be still. It’s hard to be still when you open a closet and everything falls on you-I just stand physically still and my mind spends a few minutes silently #swearingalltheswears and then I shove everything back in, because, “Hey, free dummy!” (That’s for the Jack Handey crowd). So, without further rambling, here are some fantastic AND gorgeous ideas to bring you some stillness. Not the I’m-counting-to-ten stillness. But actual serenity. NOW.
“Mental wellbeing is just as important as physical, and there are tons of blog posts dedicated to mindful activities such as yoga, meditation, journaling, and so on. There’s no better place to start your mindfulness practice than in your own home. A harmonious, mindful
living space ensures a happy, healthy, and calming atmosphere, setting you up for a successful, stress-free day. HERE we created neat visuals that showcase different decor tips to inspire mindfulness at home. Things like making sure every object serves a purpose, creating a meditation space, finding a signature scent, and choosing harmonious colors can help create a zen space that fosters a mindful environment. Gather inspiration from the mood boards below! ” Emma, Invaluable

Thanks so much, Emma! I love everything you’ve come up with and now I have an overwhelming desire to redecorate my house with tatami mats, shoji screens, and low tables!
Or at least scrub the toilet bowl. That does a LOT for my positive mental health!
